David Ogene- A native doctor aged 49 year old native doctor who goes by the name Ekeneotutu has been accused of raping a 15-year-old girl in Enugu-Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The accused who is a friend of the mother of the victim was arrested by the Enugu Ukwu Vigilante Group, following reports from sources it claimed wanted to remain anonymous.
When asked why he was sleeping with the teenager, Ekeneotutu.claimed that he was asked to marry the girl as parr of payment for his services. He claimed that the teenager in question was possessed with an ‘Ogbanje’ spirit.
“I started sleeping with the girl when her mother asked me to marry the girl in place of her treatment bills which they could not afford.”
Meanwhile, the Executive Director of Davina Care Foundation, Mrs. Rachel Yohanna who confirmed the incident told journalists that the case was brought to the foundation by the vigilante group in the area. She also noted that the matter had been reported at Nimo Police Station on Dec 21, while the victim was said to be three months pregnant.
