President Muhammadu Buhari Appoints Chuba Okadigbo’s Widow As NNPC Chair

President Muhammadu Buhari today announced the reconstitution of the NNPC board appointing Senator Margery Okadigbo as the board”s chairman.


Readers would recall that the president had earlier constituted the board with Senator Ifeanyi Araraume as its initial chairman. However, when the time came for the to inaugurate board, the president suspended its inauguration. No reason was given for such a change.
With the reconstituting of the board, Senator Margery Okadigbo will now serve as NNPC Chair with Senator Araraume losing out. 
Okadigbo is a journalist and wife of former Senate President and Igbo statesman Chuba Okadigbo.  In 2011, she was elected as Senator to the Sixth National Assembly representing Anambra North Senatorial District
Other members of the board include : Mele Kolo Kyari, Chief Executive Officer, and Umar I. Ajiya, Chief Financial Officer, Dr Tajudeen Umar (North East), Mrs Lami O. Ahmed (North Central), Mallam Mohammed Lawal (North West), Engr. Henry Obih (South East), Barrister Constance Harry Marshal (South South), and Chief Pius Akinyelure(South West).
